This week we will be continuing to read our mystery book, The Westing Game and trying to figure out the clues left behind by Sam Westing. Students are encouraged to work on the chapter they are responsible for on their study guide during IE or to check out a book from Mr. Johnson or Ms. Laufenberg.

We will also be working on forming strong claims and counterclaims for our debates that will be happening in a few weeks. Students have researched a controversial topic and now get the chance to form an opinion and build upon their ideas.

ELA Week of 1/22

With the start of the 3rd Quarter, we will be beginning our Mystery Clubs and Argument/Debate Unit. We are reading The Westing Game as a class, but each student is working in a group of 2 or 3 students on their daily reading assignments.

Monday - Mystery Book Club Day 1

Tuesday - STAR Test

Wednesday - Mystery Book Club

Thursday - Begin Argument/Debate Unit
